Try the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. The one in our town has some great salvaged materials. Also, look in the Yellow pages under: “Salvage” or “Building Materials – Used” Might just find a treasure at one of these places.

I agree with the above answer. I love going to these places. I have found a few in Memphis, including Habitat.
In a number of towns, contractors and others are donating such materials to green groups for re-use, at a fraction of the price. Be warned though, that you will probably have to do minor repairs and refinishing. Stuff that seems to hold immediate value does not often get donated. You might contact your county extension agency and ask if there are such ventures in your area.
