BRIAN Z asked:
How do I start out marketing a remodeling comany. I have over thirty years of experience and am tired of working for others.
Is a partner optional, one to sale and market, one for production?
No employees, sub out everything but the management end.

Read some useful marketing tips and more on this site to help you with it
You can hire out your marketing campaign to indepedent consultants but the fees will be high based on their production and performance but those fees are tax deductible as business expense. You have better things to do than learn marketing and bookkeeping and all of the clerical support required for the business so what you don’t want to do, you don’t have to. You are probably smarter not to have employees because of all the legal issues that go with hiring, firing, training, etc. but if you need help, you need help. You can get a partner but make sure you are on the same page with company goals. A business partner is not always the best option just for the sake of needing his or her experience in one phase of the business. I recently found a great book in my local library called “Marketing Without Money” by Nicholas E Bade. The author gives plenty of advice on how to get your business name out there. Check it out. The more clients you have, the more income you have to pursue other clients. Make sure you take all of the tax breaks that you can as business expenses.
